    PAHO Foundation Partners with Dr. Peggye Dilworth-Anderson, International Scholar and 2018 Pearmain Prize Awardee

    Atlanta, GA (December 21, 2017) – PAHO Foundation is honored to announce the appointment of Peggye Dilworth-Anderson, PhD, Professor of Health Policy and Management in the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (UNC) as its Senior Scientist Consultant. In this role, Dr. Dilworth-Anderson will provide scientific and programming expertise consultation to the President and CEO, Jennie Ward-Robinson, PhD to develop evidence-based frameworks capable of addressing existing and emerging chronic health problems in the Americas. She will also provide guidance on other strategic areas including, integrating a dynamic systems approach in developing policies and programs on chronic disease care and management.

    PAHO Foundation Congratulates Dr. Peggye Dilworth-Anderson for Receiving the 2018 Pearmain Prize

    PAHO Foundation joins Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (UNC) in congratulating one of our partners, Peggye Dilworth-Anderson, PhD for being awarded the 2018 Pearmain Prize for Excellence in Research on Aging by the University of Southern California (USC) Roybal Institute on Aging. Dr. Dilworth-Anderson, professor of health and policy and management at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, is a long-standing partner of the Foundation, providing her expertise and advice in the design and realization of various Foundation initiatives.

    Dear Partners, Colleagues, and Friends,   The year 2017 was a turning point for PAHO Foundation -- what an exciting journey! Recognizing the changing needs of the Americas, the Foundation signed Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) with industry partners, health ministries, academic institutions, and NGOs. These strategic partnerships will allow the Foundation to continue creating long-term sustainable programming that bridges the gap between public and private stakeholders.

    MOU between PAHO Foundation and MedShare

    PAHO Foundation and MedShare Join Forces in Bringing Better Health to Latin America and the Caribbean

    Atlanta, GA (October 20, 2017) – PAHO Foundation (the Foundation) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MedShare, a 501(c)3 humanitarian aid organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people, communities, and the planet through the delivery of medical supplies and equipment. The MoU formalizes their partnership geared toward improving health outcomes in the Americas, with a focus on the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region.

    Montreal, Canada (October 2-3, 2017) – PAHO Foundation leadership recently attended the 2017 Sustainable Retail Summit (SRS) in Montreal, Canada. The SRS, hosted by The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), is a yearly gathering of retail, consumer, business, and health experts, aimed at galvanizing coordinated action toward achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other positive actions to solve some of today's biggest industry challenges, ranging from food loss and waste to the eradication of forced labor practices.

    As Hurricanes Irma and Jose Threaten Lives in the Caribbean and the United States, PAHO Foundation Readies a Response

    Atlanta, GA (September 11, 2017) – From Cuba to Antigua and Barbuda, Hurricane Irma, one of the most forceful storms ever documented in the Atlantic basin, swept through the Caribbean and part of the United States and left a treacherous trail of destruction in its path, reports the BBC. Hurricane Irma has left thousands homeless and according to recent reports by Caribbean360, has resulted in at least 25 mortalities.

    Innovating Community Building and Engagement: Q&A with PAHO Foundation Board of Trustees Chair, Victoria Jones

    Victoria Jones currently leads PAHO Foundation’s (the Foundation) Board of Trustees as its Chair, serving as an ambassador to actively help the Foundation build and strengthen relationships with prospective partners and supporters. Prior to this post, Ms. Jones held the position of Vice Chair and has been with the Foundation since January 2015.

    Outside of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Ms. Jones directs and manages The Clorox Company’s global interactions with governments and sustainability-driven solutions as its Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs and as the Vice President/Secretary for The Clorox Company Foundation.
